Jiah Khan Suicide Case UPDATE: HC Dismisses Her Mother Rabia's Plea Seeking Fresh Investigation Into 9-Year-Old Case-Report
Bombay High Court dismisses Jiah Khan’s mother’s plea seeking reinvestigation by an independent agency in her daughter’s suicide case
'Nishabd' actress Jiah Khan was found dead at her Mumbai home in 2013. CBI found a three-page suicide note where she talked about suffering at the hands of actor and then-boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi, who was booked for abetment of her suicide case. Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan filed a petition in the HC seeking reinvestigation into the matter but her plea has been dismissed. The Bombay High Court on Monday dismissed the petition saying they have full faith in the agency that probed the case.
According to media reports, Rabia Khan, in her petition, asked for a fresh probe by an independent and special agency with assistance from the United States's Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) into the nine-year-old case of her daughter’s suicide. However, the HC court consisting of a bench of Justices A S Gadkari and M N Jadhav dismissed the plea. ALSO READ: Jiah Khan SUICIDE Case: OMG! Jiah Khan’s suicide case was investigated by CBI and the agency arrested Sooraj Pancholi on the charges of abetment of suicide. He is currently out on a bail. In her complaint, Rabia Khan alleged that her daughter was murdered, In August this year, Jiah’s mother appeared before a special court in Mumbai and stated in her testimony that Sooraj abused her daughter verbally and physically and also called her with “dirty” names.
On 3 June 2013, Jiah was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the bedroom of her residence in Juhu, Mumbai. Nearly five years after her death, a court in Mumbai charged Pancholi with abetting Khan's suicide in 2018.
